Does “fifth Element” Parody Other Movies/books?

I think I see parodies of Deep Space 9, Taxi, Star Trek, Austin Powers (which is extremely funny to me because Austin Powers is a parady, so wouldn’t that make Fifth Element a parody of a parody?)
And OMIGOD What’s Chris Rock all about in this scheme of things? Like some mish mash of every talk/entertainment cross between Jerry Springer and Johnny Carson and Arsenio Hall and Geraldo Rivera?
What are your thoughts/Impressions?

Hi! I’m not so sure about any parody of Austin Powers (although Fifth Element and Austin Powers Man of Mystery were both released in 1997).
I just wanted to let you know that Ruby Rhod is played by Chris Tucker, not Chris Rock. He does a great job, and I love that character. He really cuts loose in that role. :)
The 5th Element is one of my favorite movies– did you know that the director Luc Besson is married to Milla Jovovich (LeeLoo)? The language spoken by LeeLoo was made up by the couple. I think it sounds pretty convincing!

Chris TUCKER was funny in that movie. And so was Bruce Willis. :)
This is the script for the movie:http://www.imsdb.com/scripts/Fifth-Eleme…
